Located at the very top of one of Brisbane’s best entertainment precincts, Caxton Street, The Lord Alfred was established in the 19th century and was named the Prince Alfred in 1868 following the announcement of the Prince sailing to Australian soils, sent by his Mother, Queen Victoria. Now in its 150th year and having played part in many Brisbanite’s youth, The Lord Alfred has been carefully restored with much consideration to its historic relevance. However, the key influence was community, to create a place of rest, relaxation and entertainment where the locals and tourists felt at home. All eight areas of the pub have been cleverly and thoughtfully transformed creating beautiful environments modelled around classic eras including the 40’s 50’s, 60’s. Now a relaxed, cool and breezy venue, The Lord Alfred has a warm and welcoming feel attracting social engagement. Vibrant and contented, Lord Alfred conjures up images of warm summer days and balmy nights year round. Guests sit and sip at The Lord Alfred’s breezy outdoor decks, spacious sports bars, lush cocktail-focused nooks, subterranean function spaces and secluded vantage points. The kitchen offers a menu of classic pub fare and a choice of small and medium dishes, and banquet-style feasts. Each dish has been designed to be mixed and matched and enjoyed anywhere in the venue, in intimate pairings of as part of large groups. The Lord Alfred’s drink offering is expansive, with six bars offering a stellar selection of beer, wine and spirits. The venue has raised the bar as far as the wine selection is concerned, with a newly installed wine fridge has been housing more than 900 bottles, and taps have been installed to pour a selection of drops from freshly tapped casks The ideal function venue Lord Alfred hires out any of its six bars and eight unique private function spaces including a glass-encased brasserie, underground cellars and large top level verandah bar looking over Suncorp Stadium and Caxton Street.
